Will Tom Cruise Star In A Film By Legendary Oscar-Winning Director?!

MOVIE NEWS – Tom Cruise will star in the new film by the Oscar-winning director of The Revenant, following a deal with Warner Bros.

Tom Cruise will star in a new film by the Oscar-winning director of The Revenant as part of a new partnership with Warner Bros. Oscar-nominated for Born on the Fourth of July, Jerry Maguire and Magnolia, Cruise has spent the past decade shooting blockbuster action films such as Mission: Impossible and Top Gun: Maverick.

However, the actor recently entered into a strategic partnership with Warner Bros. and reportedly focuses on starring in auteur films instead of the studio’s established movie series.

Now it looks like the superstar has found his first project under his new Warner Bros. deal. This would immediately put him in touch with a recognized director. According to Deadline, Tom Cruise will star in an as-yet-untitled film directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu for Warner Bros. and Legendary. This would be Cruise’s first film under his new partnership with Warner Bros. The original screenplay is written by Iñárritu, Birdman co-writers Alexander Dinelaris, and Nicolas Giacobone, and Sabina Berman.

The project is treated as a top-secret, so no details about the plot can be known for the time being.

Tom Cruise’s WB contract and Alejandro Iñárritu’s film

Last month, it was announced that Tom Cruise was joining forces with Warner Bros. to develop and produce films. The partnership was initially said to include both original and franchise films, such as Edge of Tomorrow 2. However, a recent report revealed that Cruise’s deal with Warner Bros. could represent a major career change for the star.

As part of the strategic partnership with the studio, Cruise reportedly wants to return to working with auteur directors such as Paul Thomas Anderson.

Tom Cruise worked with Paul Thomas Anderson in the 1999 film Magnolia. The last time he received an Oscar nomination was for this role.

Cruise could not have found a better opportunity than Iñárritu if he wanted to work on auteur films again. The Mexican filmmaker is best known for the movies Birdman and The Revenant. The former won the award for Best Film, and the latter brought Leonardo DiCaprio his coveted first Oscar. Iñárritu won best director for both. His collaboration with Cruise would be his first English-language film since 2015’s The Returner. This indicates how eager you are to work with the actor. With Iñárritu, Tom Cruise doesn’t have to give up on box office success either, since The Revenant brought in more than 500 million dollars.
