Silent Hill 2 Remake: Bloober Team is Very Confident about it

According to the Polish studio, the reimagined version of Konami’s survival horror game (which may not be able to live up to the original, as it is considered a classic) will not disappoint.

We’ve already covered the studio’s annual report, albeit for two of their other games. Project C will be made in partnership with Take-Two Interactive subsidiary Private Division, while Project R will be made from one of The Walking Dead co-creator Robert Kirkman’s company, Skybound Entertainment’s IP. But these two games will be preceded by the Silent Hill 2 remake, which Konami refuses to say exactly when it will be released.

Bloober Team’s annual report on James Sunderland’s story says it’s confident of a conclusion. Despite this, the game has been very controversial lately (it has been rated in Europe and the US): the second trailer for Silent Hill 2 Remake appeared in January and only 51% of viewers liked it, and for good reason: Konami, which is responsible for marketing the game, inexplicably edited the video to make it look action-packed, but Silent Hill never focused on that.

The folks at @BlooberTeam recently released their Annual Report with some interesting imagery and tidbits:

So it’s no coincidence that Bloober Team president Piotr Babieno said at the time that this video does not reflect the spirit of Silent Hill 2 Remake and is not true to the original game or their concept, even though the Polish team wants to fully represent Team Silent’s romantic vision of 22 years ago and believes that once players see the real game and gameplay, they will appreciate the remake differently.

Team Bloober recently changed James’ face (we reported), making our protagonist look a bit younger. Will it really be like that? We don’t know, but the Silent Hill 2 Remake is definitely coming to PlayStation 5 sometime this year, and it will definitely show up at the PlayStation Showcase rumored for May or June…
