Ghost of Tsushima: No Need to Register on PlayStation Network on PC!

Unlike Helldivers 2, Sucker Punch doesn’t require you to have a PlayStation Network account and link it to your Steam account, except in certain cases.

The situation for Helldivers 2 on Steam is quite complicated: after the grace period, Sony will make it mandatory to register for PlayStation Network and link it to your Steam account, but since there is no way to register for PSN in several countries, they have also stopped selling it in several places (this was in the news today). This is not the way Ghost of Tsushima will go, and Sucker Punch kept their statement on Twitter quite short.

They thanked us for our feedback and reminded us that a PlayStation Network account is only required to play Ghost of Tsushima: Legends (the online mode) and if you want to use the PlayStation overlay (this will be the first Sony game on PC to feature it). If you don’t want either of those things and just want the single-player element, that’s fine: you don’t need a PlayStation Network account for that. It’s the right move, and it’s getting the public’s attention.

Just so you are aware, A PSN account is required for Legends online multiplayer mode and to use PlayStation overlay. It is not required to play the singleplayer game.
