Homeworld 3: One of the Upscalers Won’t be Supported at Launch

Blackbird Interactive’s real-time strategy game won’t have adequate support for one of the scaling-up technologies, so players with products from one of the GPU manufacturers will have to opt for a rival solution.

At the end of November, the studio announced that their long-awaited game would have DLSS 3 support, so those with Nvidia GeForce RTX 4000 graphics cards will not be able to use the latest technology (DLSS Super Resolution) at launch. It’s likely that Blackbird Interactive’s PR department confused DLSS Super Resolution with DLSS Frame Generation (which can be used to improve frame rate). Therefore, Homeworld 3 will only use DLSS 2 at launch, and the studio did not answer WCCFTech’s question (“will DLSS 3 support come later?”). However, HDR, ray-traced softer shadows with contact hardening and AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2 (i.e. FSR 2) will be supported, so the alternative will be applicable since “the reds” do not use closed technology (Nvidia’s solutions only work for them).

It’s not too late to upgrade if you need to, as there are still a few days until release, so here’s the system requirements list:
