Ubisoft acknowledges that the early missions in Star Wars Outlaws are too difficult and “unfair.” A patch is coming soon to make the beginning of the game more enjoyable for players.
Despite launching with some bugs and areas for improvement, Star Wars Outlaws has been well-received by many players as an action-adventure game. While the community continues to enjoy the game, Ubisoft recognizes there are moments where the experience could be more satisfying. The good news is that updates are on the way to address these issues, and players only need to wait a few days or weeks.
Massive Entertainment’s creative director, Julian Gerighty, discussed this in a conversation with GamesRadar, addressing the high difficulty of the game’s first stealth missions. “You’re probably thinking of one of the first missions in Mirogana, which is incredibly hard. And to me, that’s a mistake, and it’s something we’re going to work on improving. I don’t think it means removing the fail state entirely, but I do think we can make it a lot more enjoyable and understandable,” he says.
“We don’t want it to feel unfair,” Gerighty adds regarding the challenging early missions. “And today, I think it feels unfair. And believe it or not, that wasn’t our intention. It’s more of something that’s crept in over the last week or so, and we’re already fixing it for a patch that’s coming out maybe 10 days from now,” he explains. Recently, Ubisoft Massive acknowledged that there is room for improvement in Star Wars Outlaws and they plan to continue refining its open world. This commitment extends to future DLCs, with big plans to expand the game’s experience.
Initial Sales of Star Wars Outlaws Show Weak Performance
Investors are concerned, as initial sales for Star Wars Outlaws appear to be disappointing for Ubisoft, leading to the company’s stock value reaching a 10-year low. Various analysts have lowered their sales expectations, despite Ubisoft’s strong desire for the game’s success, which is vital for the company’s growth and financial stability.
