Latest Cyberpunk 2077 Patch Has Arrived, But Not Everyone Got What They Were Hoping For…

For now, Cyberpunk 2077 patch 2.13 leaves something to be desired.

Cyberpunk 2077 has received a major new update that you can download right now. However, you may want to wait a little longer, as many people have reported issues with the patch.

CD Projekt Red just released patch 2.13 for the game, and the general reception of the update has been pretty negative so far. Patch 2.13 was released last night, and it seems to address something fans have been asking for since 2023: AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 support.

For those who don’t know precisely what FSR 3 does, CD Projekt Red says it allows players to combine “image upscaling with frame generation technologies to generate high resolution frames at fast frame rates.”

In short, this setting will make Cyberpunk 2077 run better on mid-range and low-end graphics cards.

The advantage of FSR 3 is that the setting improves the visuals with any graphics card that your computer supports. In contrast to NVIDIA DLSS, which, as the name suggests, only optimally supports NVIDIA graphics cards.

However, the reactions to the repair were quite sour for several reasons. All of this is surprising given how little the patch actually changed. (Although the latter is a problem in itself, which some people object to).

What’s wrong with the latest Cyberpunk 2077 patch?!

The first thing that many people complain about is that the patch is a PC-exclusive thing. This has affected Xbox owners a bit bitterly, given that the FSR option they currently have still doesn’t work properly.

The second gripe is that while FSR 3 will surely be a boon to some, FSR 3.1 has been around for a while. In other words, this new update was out of date before it even came out.

And the last, perhaps the most depressing, complaint is that the patch seems to have indeed affected the performance of many players on PC – only in a negative way!

“Anyone else noticing a massive frame rate drop on this update?” Successful-Body9573 asked in a Reddit thread related to the update. “I was getting 70-80fps max settings on my 4080 now I’m getting 50fps.”

“Yeah I can’t figure it out…” answered Jags_95, “The power draw went up a lot and the performance tanked by 30-50 fps with no settings change.”

Some have reported that a simple reboot can fix the problem. Hopefully, the game will be fixed soon for the majority of players and they can enjoy the benefits of the update!
