Silent Hill 2 Remake: Urgent Fix from Bloober Team; First Mods Arrive!

Silent Hill 2 Remake had a giant bug, but the Bloober Team has released an urgent patch as mods continue to arrive for the game.

Players can finally relive one of the most iconic survival horror games of all time! Silent Hill 2 Remake is already available on PC and PS5, but it has just received a patch (bringing the game to version 1,003,000), which all users should download as soon as possible. As indicated on social media, it turned out that the Italian subtitles spoiled one of the most important twists of the whole adventure. This could have ruined most of the game experience in the first 20-30 minutes of playtime.

We won’t go into the spoilery details, just in case there are users who want to discover the story of Silent Hill 2 through this remake. All we will say is that early on in the adventure, James acquires the radio, which emits static noise for most of the experience. The object emits a jagged message of a woman that is impossible to recognize. The subtitles, which work according to the mysterious nature of the situation, accompany this moment by displaying a sentence that is completely unreadable to the player. However, the Italian text solves the mystery, showing what message James would hear without the static sounds (see the Reddit link below, but beware, because they comment on the error with spoilers!)

In short, it’s a sentence that reveals the final “twist” of Silent Hill 2 and the truth behind James and his arrival in Silent Hill City. So, the Bloober Team rushed to release a patch to fix this bug. However, it’s worth noting that the bug was only present in the preview version of the game (the one received by those who pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition).

A survival horror game without fog?!

It’s only been two days since the release of Silent Hill 2 Remake, but the community is already enjoying Konami’s survival horror. There are many people who have already completed the game and want to go back for a slightly different experience. Modders can help a lot by sharing their creations. Below are some of the Silent Hill 2 Remake mods that you might be able to claim the community’s attention with.

For more experimental gamers, Nexus Mods is the place to go, with over 50 mods to download.

Some of these are minor fixes and additions, but some can radically change survival horror. One of the most popular is Sunny Hills: this mod removes the fog from the city, so we can see the streets of Silent Hill in full detail.

Other mods for Silent Hill 2 Remake

Playing Silent Hill 2 Remake without fog is strange but interesting and valuable if you want to discover secrets in the gloomy streets of the city. In addition, we cannot forget about the other mods that are common in almost all titles. Here, for example, is CJ, known from GTA San Andreas, who is considered a classic in Silent Hill 2 Remake. However, Leon S. Kennedy is a playable character from both Resident Evil 2 and 4, whose mod is also surprisingly successful.

More interesting creations come from modder NorskPL, who replaced James with the original 2001 model. Another mod brings back the textures of the original Silent Hill 2, making it the most awesome “demake.” Last but not least, a mod is being prepared that allows you to play Silent Hill 2 Remake in the first person.
