Grand Theft Auto VI: Elevating Mission Design to New Heights? [VIDEO]

The next money maker from Rockstar Games and Take-Two may raise the bar from what we’ve seen in more ways than one.

In the video below, GTAVIoclock interviewed Ben Hinchcliffe, who currently works as a Lead Designer at Just Add Water, but previously worked on Grand Theft Auto VI at Rockstar. He believes that the developers have taken the realism and behavior of NPCs, non-playable characters, to a new level, and he thinks that it will be talked about for years after release. He also talked about the mission design. He said that this is what will make Grand Theft Auto VI good because it will give players a lot of freedom.

Grand Theft Auto VI is currently in the bug-fixing phase, so the developers are focusing on fixing bugs, so we might see more of this in the near future. It could even show up during The Game Awards in December, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see a new trailer for it released completely independently, breaking records again, although it’s bound to leak because that’s what happened last time.

It’s been almost a year since Rockstar and Take-Two released the first video for Grand Theft Auto VI, which gave a brief glimpse of the two main characters and the state of Leonida, where Vice City is located. Since then, Rockstar hasn’t said anything about the game, so it’s no wonder that rumors have been circulating that the open-world title might not be released until later in 2026 (and presumably with a new Grand Theft Auto Online), but there’s certainly no talk of a delay.

Grand Theft Auto VI is officially scheduled for release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series in the fall of 2025, one year from now. The PC port might not arrive until 2027, but that’s just a guess…
