With Sony still being very coy about what it’s going to do with its PlayStation exclusives in 2025, it’s about time they changed their tune.
Nate the Hate was the one who told us exactly when the Nintendo Switch 2 would be revealed a few days ago (the new N-Console was in the news earlier today!). Now he’s talking about when he thinks we can expect a new State of Play broadcast. He didn’t give many details (in fact, let’s be honest, none at all), but he hinted that February might be the time for Sony to do this, but blindly we can only guess whether the focus will be on third-party titles from outside, or if the internally developed first-party games will finally get more attention.
How’s February sound?

This doesn’t include games from Bluepoint Games and Bend Studio, as Sony Interactive Entertainment threw them in the bin (this was also mentioned in today’s news), so let’s think about other games. The last time we had State of Play was in September, but then they were focusing on Alan Wake II or Stellar Blade, and those were already released, and it was just DLC. And for first-party titles, it’s really pretty muted what Sony has officially said.
For example, there’s Ghost of Yotei, the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima by Sucker Punch. This game will be released on PlayStation 5 sometime this year. Then there’s Death Stranding 2: On The Beach from Kojima Productions, which is also coming to Sony’s hardware in 2025. You could also include Insomniac Games’ new project Marvel’s Wolverine. And beyond that, we have no idea what PlayStation Studios is up to…
None of this is official yet, of course, but it’s about time Sony told us what it’s up to in 2025. We know very little about their plans for this year!
