MOVIE NEWS – Jack Quaid turns to gold. He starred in the latest Spider-Man film, then in Oppenheimer, and he is one of the most popular characters in the series The Boys – each production has an approval rating of over 90 percent on the Rotten Tomatoes (RT) review portal. In comparison, his latest film, Novocaine, in which he is already the absolute main character, received 92 percent on RT, and with this we can probably inaugurate a new action star.

The hero of Novocaine, Nathan Caine, suffers from a special – by the way, real – neurological disorder: he does not feel any pain. (The title of the film also hints at this; novocaine is a very strong painkiller used in a wide range of medical settings.) Nathan seems like a pretty ordinary bank employee, but when the bank is robbed and his mysterious girlfriend (Amber Midthunder – The Prey) is taken hostage, he switches to combat mode and uses his special ability to deal with everyone.

You can already beat the crap out of clumsy, stilted superheroes, but according to critics and the audience, who rarely form a chorus with them, Quaid is really incredibly funny in the role of the pain-free justice minister, and he’s also learned how to fight and shoot properly, so he’s even credible in the role of the financial advisor who rises to the occasion. The 32-year-old actor, who is the product of the love of two big stars, Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid, is not without excuses for having to cut out about half of the cast in his first absolute leading role. “I was a little bit overcome by the imposter syndrome, meaning I wasn’t sure I was good enough for this job,” he said in an interview with the prestigious Newsweek magazine. “I’ve always been the number two actor in films and series, and now suddenly I’ve been given such a responsibility that I can barely shake it off. The lead role of the action hero seemed like a lot at first, but then I somehow managed to pull it off well, at least I really hope so.”
