It’s a Microsoft-exclusive fantasy RPG that initially skipped Xbox Series, but now Towerborne finally has a confirmed console and Game Pass release date. Developed by Stoic, the title joins the Game Preview program on April 29.
Great news for fans of fantasy action RPGs! Towerborne now has an official release date for Xbox Series and Xbox Game Pass, launching alongside a major update that will enhance the experience. This title has been available on PC via early access since September 2024, but the developers initially chose to delay a console release to “avoid disappointing anyone.” Now, this exclusive is reaching a brand-new player base.
Towerborne is Finally Coming to Consoles
Console users won’t have to wait long to try Towerborne. According to details shared on Xbox Wire, the game will be available starting April 29 on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC via the Xbox app, and through Game Pass. The experience will launch as part of the Xbox Game Preview program and will receive continuous improvements over the coming months. Additionally, players will have the chance to jump into this fantasy world with an exciting new content update.
Towerborne Expands With a Massive Update
To coincide with its console debut, developer Stoic is releasing a massive update titled the Class Mastery Update. This major patch introduces a host of new features, including cross-play and cross-progression between PC and Xbox Series, local co-op on Microsoft’s console, a redesigned map, a new Umbra (a spirit companion that follows the player), never-before-seen enemy types, legendary items, upgrades, and much more.
However, the biggest change comes in class abilities. As its name suggests, the Class Mastery Update introduces a new progression system that allows players to fine-tune their playstyle by unlocking various powers and mechanics. This addition is aimed at those who love experimenting with different builds. And Towerborne isn’t stopping here—this action RPG still has a long journey ahead on both PC and Xbox Series.
