Another Company Stops US Shipments Because of Trump Tariffs!

TECH NEWS – There are more and more cases of people saying they don’t plan to ship anymore because of what’s happening in the United States…

Anbernic, a company that makes retro handhelds, has stopped shipping to the United States because of the tariffs imposed on China by Donald Trump’s administration. The China-based company has updated its shipping policy on its website, alerting customers to the import tariffs imposed on its products: “Due to changes in U.S. tariff policy, we will be suspending all orders shipped from China to the United States. We strongly recommend prioritizing products shipped from our US warehouse, which are currently unaffected by import duties and can be purchased with confidence,” the company said.

Anbernic also said it will keep its customers informed of any changes to the import duties and will post its revised shipping policy on its website. The company will ship products directly from China to its customers and stock its U.S. warehouse as soon as a new handheld device is released. This would mean huge customs costs on the products, which would certainly be passed on to the consumer, making Anbernic’s devices less affordable.

While U.S. customers can’t yet buy directly from Anbernic, its products are available on third-party sites like Amazon. The company was founded in 2017 by Shenzhen YangLiMing Electronic Technology Co. Ltd. It started with China’s first open-source handheld game console, the Retro Games series, and has since released more than 30 console models that can emulate game systems such as the NES, Sega Genesis, Game Boy, SNES, PlayStation, Nintendo 64, PlayStation Portable, and Nintendo DS. (Understandably, it is highly recommended that you own the original games, otherwise you would be committing piracy).

However, beyond Anbernic, this means that Sony and Microsoft’s later new consoles will be much more expensive, if tariffs are still alive at that time; they certainly will not be made in America.
