The Big N is giving free updates to twelve games, allowing previously released Switch titles to shine visually on the new hardware.
All twelve updates will launch on June 5, the same day the Nintendo Switch 2 becomes officially available. For ARMS, visuals will be optimized for the Switch screen and HD TVs, with improved image quality and smoother frame rates even in matches with three or more players. HDR support is also included.
Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain adds GameShare functionality, letting up to four players enjoy Party Mode, with both local and online sharing via GameChat. Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker receives enhanced visuals, HDR support, and GameShare, enabling two-player co-op across all levels with GameChat integration.
Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics supports GameShare and GameChat, with up to four players gaining access to 34 games. Game Builder Garage features upgraded visuals and support for mouse-like controls via Joy-Con 2. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will benefit from enhanced visuals and smoother frame rates.
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury brings better visuals, frame rate, and HDR support (HDR limited to Bowser’s Fury), plus GameShare. Four players can enjoy 3D World, while two can play Bowser’s Fury cooperatively—one as Mario, the other as Bowser Jr.—with GameChat support.
Super Mario Odyssey gains visual upgrades, HDR, and GameShare features. Two-player mode allows one player to control Mario and the other Cappy. Both The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom and the remake of Link’s Awakening are receiving enhanced visuals and HDR support.
All twelve first-party games will get their free Switch 2 update on June 5, aligning with the new console’s release.
