Few people know the internal history of Halo better than Glenn Israel. He was there during the Bungie era, stayed through the transition to 343 Industries, and remained on board when the studio was renamed Halo Studios last year. More than 15 years later, after serving as art director on Halo Infinite, he has now posted a string of extremely serious allegations against Halo Studios and Microsoft on LinkedIn.
Serious Accusations Against Microsoft and Halo Studios
Something appears to be going on inside the studio that the public has not seen, and Glenn Israel has now blown the lid off it. He accuses other Halo Studios veterans of carrying out “numerous unethical and/or unlawful acts” between January 2024 and June 2025. The list of claims is both long and severe. Israel cites blacklisting, fraud, extreme favoritism, nepotism, and what he describes as “multiple harassment campaigns designed to pressure otherwise high-performing but unwanted employees into leaving.”
Israel says he is not only speaking about what happened to him personally, but also about situations he witnessed during that same period. The allegations point directly at Microsoft’s internal handling of the matter. After submitting several documented complaints to Halo Studios HR, he says the response he received was not an investigation but a threat. “A senior representative from Microsoft’s global Labor Relations department threatened retaliation on first contact and promised to erase any investigation,” he explains.
He also claims that other Halo Studios veterans carried out “a four-day harassment campaign” meant to manufacture grounds for his dismissal, and that Microsoft’s HR departments “took no appropriate action” either during the incident or afterward. Israel further argues that his experience is not an isolated case, adding that since he first went public with his situation last October, he has received private messages from other employees that have led him to believe these practices are widespread inside Microsoft.
He goes on to allege that Microsoft “fabricates or forces layoffs” in order to remove employees who have filed legitimate complaints. He also accuses the organizations and investigations operating under Microsoft’s HR umbrella of being “deliberately compartmentalized” to dilute responsibility. Israel ends his post with a direct warning to anyone thinking about working for Microsoft, saying he cannot recommend the company as an employer. “Your effort and experience are not respected. I have the proof: you are not safe.” A former Halo Studios colleague of his, Robyn Cain, also backed up Israel’s claims in a comment, writing: “I can definitely corroborate these suspicions.”
