Stray: The Cat Adventure Is Ready to Leap Onto Nintendo Switch 2 [VIDEO]

BlueTwelve Studio and Annapurna Interactive have announced when the next port will arrive, and this time it is heading to Nintendo’s next-generation hardware.

Alone, lost, and separated from its family, a stray cat must solve an ancient mystery in order to escape a long-forgotten city. Stray is a third-person feline adventure set in the meticulously detailed neon alleys of a decaying cybercity and the darker, grubbier depths of its underworld. Along the way, the cat befriends a small flying drone known only as B12. With the help of this new companion, the pair try to find a way out.

See the world through the eyes of a stray cat and toy with the environment. Roam the surroundings high and low, defend yourself against unexpected threats, and solve the mysteries of this hostile place populated only by humble droids and dangerous creatures. Be cautious, nimble, silly, and, when the moment calls for it, as annoying as possible toward the strange inhabitants of this alien world.

Stray has clearly been both popular and successful, so it is no surprise to see it spread across so many platforms. It first launched on PlayStation 5, PC, and PlayStation 4 on July 19, 2022. The Xbox Series and Xbox One versions followed much later, on August 10, 2023. Players then had to wait even longer for the Nintendo Switch port, which only arrived on November 19, 2024. If ever there were a case for saying that good work takes time, or at least that a good port does, this would be it.

The Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Stray will offer improved visuals, 4K resolution when docked, a better frame rate, and even mouse support. It launches on May 28 via the Nintendo eShop for $30. There will also be a physical release, although at the moment that seems to be limited to Japan, where it will be published by Happinet. So far, there is still no word on whether a boxed Switch 2 edition will also appear in the West.
