Injustice 3: A WB Games Artist Let the Cat Out of the Bag!

Although Warner Bros. Games remains quiet about the project – with the Paramount-Warner merger currently keeping it busy – the existence of a new Injustice has, for all practical purposes, now been confirmed.

It appears that a small slip by one of WB Games’ artists has strengthened the belief that Injustice 3 will be the next game we get from NetherRealm. Rumors about the next entry in the superhero fighting series have been circulating for months, and this latest hint only adds more fuel to the fire. Last year, a MultiVersus data miner suggested that evidence of Injustice 3 had been found, and a few months later, the game’s voice actors George Newbern and Phil LaMarr, who voiced Superman and Green Lantern respectively, confirmed at a fan event that they were both working on Injustice 3.

Now an artist, whose identity MP1st did not disclose for confidentiality reasons, has mentioned Injustice 3 in their résumé on ArtStation. That résumé also lists several AAA projects, including the sequel to Hogwarts Legacy, which Warner is also developing. It is worth stressing that this is still just a single résumé reference, and the mere fact that it appears in one artist’s work history does not, by itself, guarantee that this is the next game we will see from NetherRealm.

Still, Newbern and LaMarr’s comments, the earlier datamining references, and now the résumé mention – combined with the fact that DC executives James Gunn and Peter Safran have reportedly held discussions with both NetherRealm and Rocksteady about new games set in the DC universe – all point strongly toward Injustice 3 eventually becoming a reality.

That said, the company’s new leadership could, after the Paramount-Warner merger, decide that it no longer wants to keep investing in the project, and in that scenario, every hope of seeing NetherRealm return to the beloved series could vanish instantly. That remains worth remembering until Warner and NetherRealm officially confirm that Injustice 3 is really happening.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
