[SOP 2026] ILL: This Game Is Sick in More Than Name! [VIDEO]

This survival horror game looks genuinely exciting, and it increasingly feels like it could become one of 2027’s major surprises…

Developed by Team Clout in collaboration with Mundfish Powerhouse, ILL is a realistic first-person action-survival horror game centered on visceral body horror, cinematic immersion, environmental storytelling, and intense physical gameplay interactions. The new video, shown publicly for the first time since summer 2025, marks a major milestone for the project and highlights the evolution of ILL‘s world, atmosphere, and gameplay direction. The trailer introduces several key characters and different new Aberration types with disturbing appearances and unpredictable behavior, while also giving a deeper look at ILL‘s brutal combat, including its advanced dismemberment system and realistic weapon handling.

The footage also shows a wider range of locations and environments, from claustrophobic interiors to broader exterior areas, further expanding the game’s scale. Something sinister has awakened inside a massive research fortress. As horrific aberrations spread throughout the complex, the protagonist must fight grotesque monsters and uncover the truth behind the catastrophe in a desperate attempt to save what matters most. Balancing survival and action mechanics, ILL remains a pure, unforgiving horror experience where every threat is deadly and resources are extremely scarce. To survive, players must master tactical combat assessment. Although a varied arsenal of firearms is available, ammunition is a luxury, forcing players to adapt to different aberration types and rely heavily on improvised melee combat.

Players can use objects in the environment to gain the upper hand: they can throw bricks to stun enemies or rip pipes from walls, with those improvised weapons degrading through use. Drawing on Team Clout’s extensive experience in the film industry, ILL delivers an unusually deep cinematic experience in which photorealistic visual effects and Hollywood-grade immersion combine to make everything feel frighteningly real. The developers’ cinematic work can be seen in acclaimed productions such as Until Dawn, IT: Welcome to Derry, V/H/S/Beyond, Longlegs, Azrael, and various Sony Pictures horror projects.

“We are thrilled to finally announce our release window, and we are working tirelessly to deliver our ambitious vision for players to enjoy. With this new trailer, we’re excited to showcase new types of monstrosities and introduce you to the game’s intriguing characters,” said Team Clout CEO and ILL game director Max Verehin in the press release. “ILL isn’t just visually stunning; it redefines how real a horror game can feel. The mystery we’re beginning to unveil with this story trailer will pull players in just as deeply. We can’t wait for players to experience it firsthand,” added Mundfish CEO Robert Bagratuni.

ILL will launch in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
