Tempus Vitae: A Metroidvania, But Not Your Typical One! [VIDEO]

Whiteboard Games has added a small but meaningful twist to its game, and we will still have to wait a while before it arrives.

We play as Alex, a time-displaced astronaut searching for his missing brother on the ruined Theia space station, both in war-torn 2185 and in post-apocalyptic 2385. Master an entire arsenal of time-travel abilities and weapons in this sci-fi metroidvania-style first-person shooter. How can a pistol that shoots backward through time be used to open a door? Like keys for a lock, collect the right tools to move forward and defeat your enemies. Travel 200 years into the future and back, and use the differences between eras to carve a path through.

Stop time and freeze enemy bullets in midair. Search for temporal anomalies to bend history in your favor. Leap forward in time to build momentum. Use temporal displacement to travel from one corner of Theia to the other, and do much more in this time-traveling game. Find the source of this century-spanning conflict. Save your brother, and of course, save your own life as well.

An unprecedented crossover: time travel, first-person shooting, and metroidvania design. Get lost in nonlinear, interconnected levels, unlocking new routes as you gain weapons and abilities. Face terrifying bosses with complex behavior in fast-paced, precision-based combat. Follow an interwoven story with objectives, quests, and an NPC dialogue system. Explore different areas with clearly defined aesthetics, hazards, and stories. Use save points and fast-travel anchors as the world expands, and search for currency, collectibles, shops, and upgrades.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
