Control Resonant: Surprisingly Friendly System Requirements on PC!

We would not have expected Remedy Entertainment to set the system requirements for the Control sequel this low.

Let us take a look at what kind of PC will be needed for the Finnish studio’s next game. The system requirements for Control Resonant look surprisingly modest, especially considering that Remedy Entertainment has been working with increasingly ambitious technical features in recent years.

Minimum System Requirements:

Operating system: Windows 10 x64/Windows 11
Processor: Intel Core i5-8500 or AMD equivalent, 6-core/6-thread CPU
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070/AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT
Free storage space: 100 GB on SSD

Recommended System Requirements:

Operating system: Windows 10 x64/Windows 11
Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or Intel equivalent, 8-core/16-thread CPU
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070/AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT
Free storage space: 100 GB on SSD

Compared with Remedy’s previous game, 2023’s Alan Wake 2, the minimum and recommended requirements are almost identical, with only a few exceptions: the minimum CPU requirement has risen slightly from the Intel i5-7600K to the 8500, while the recommended GPU has been updated from the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 and AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT to the 3070 and 6700 XT, respectively. Given that three years have passed, however, this is more than understandable.

Control Resonant continues to use the studio’s proprietary Northlight engine. While Alan Wake 2 was a survival horror game that could get away with a lower frame rate, Control Resonant offers fast, frenetic action. The studio previously confirmed that it is targeting a 60 FPS frame rate on all platforms to ensure a smooth gameplay experience, and we can assume that this will also apply to the minimum and recommended configurations. At the same time, Remedy is still including high-end PC features such as Nvidia DLSS 4.5 and path tracing support, meaning players with a GeForce RTX 5000 series graphics card can once again expect the best experience.

Control Resonant will launch on September 24 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, right in the middle of September’s game avalanche.
