[XGS 2026] State of Decay 3: The Long-Awaited Game Is Coming to PlayStation 5 Too [VIDEO]

Undead Labs had not previously discussed bringing its game to Sony’s console, but that has now changed.

Play as members of a survivor community, build up settlements with friends, and wipe out zombies in State of Decay 3, the newest entry in the franchise from Undead Labs. The zombie apocalypse has almost completely wiped out humanity. Years after the first outbreak, we are forced to carve out a life for ourselves in a world afflicted by blood plague. Play as members of a survivor community, build up settlements with friends, and destroy zombies in State of Decay 3, which was announced several years ago.

The balance has been broken. A new zombie evolution threatens the landscape. Reclaim territory, scavenge, build, and fight to create safety for our community. This is our story – make the difficult decisions about where to live, what to build, and who to recruit into our community. Permadeath is a constant threat to our community: every risk has to be weighed against the expected reward.

Capture multiple settlements to create a community network. Build in order to survive. Strengthen defenses, expand the arsenal, craft homemade explosives, and heal injured characters to increase morale. Discover survivor enclaves, build trust, and recruit them into our community. The online multiplayer mode, supporting up to four players, offers a new shared world. Start a community from nothing together and combine strategies. Develop and expand the shared community, which reflects our decisions. Future content will unlock new features and challenges.

State of Decay 3 is also a game backed by Xbox Game Studios, meaning Microsoft itself will publish Undead Labs’ title. Until now, it had only been announced for Xbox Series and PC, but it has been revealed that it will also come to PlayStation 5 when it launches in 2027. Hopefully, the long wait will pay off.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
