Ready or Not 2: Here I Come! Arrives on Disney+ on July 2

MOVIE NEWS – Searchlight Pictures is bringing back audiences’ favourite survivor bride. Ready or Not 2: Here I Come! is not a simple sequel: it continues the first film’s story with even higher stakes, new characters, and the familiar mix of humour, blood and chaos. The film arrives on Disney+ on July 2.

The first film ended with an unsettling final image: Grace, played by Samara Weaving, was left alone, covered in injuries but still alive, and irreversibly changed by everything she had endured. Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett did not see the sequel as a conclusion, but as another all-or-nothing challenge. What appeared to be the ritual of a single family in the first film now unfolds as part of an international network, where rival families fight for power according to their own rules.

Not long after surviving the attack by the Le Domas family, Grace becomes trapped in another deadly game, this time alongside her estranged sister Faith, played by Kathryn Newton. To survive and protect her sister, she must claim the leadership position of the Council, which grants power over the world. Four rival families are pursuing the same goal, making Grace a target from every direction, while the winner takes everything.

The film was directed by the Radio Silence duo of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, with a screenplay by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy. Samara Weaving returns in the lead role, joined by Kathryn Newton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elijah Wood, Shawn Hatosy, David Cronenberg, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, Varun Saranga and Daniel Beirne. Ready or Not 2: Here I Come! has also received a favourable response from critics and audiences alike: it reached an 89% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes’ Popcornmeter, earned the Verified Hot distinction, and was included in The New York Times critics’ selection.

Disney+ offers content for every age group, with an ever-expanding selection of new series, box-office hits, exclusive original productions and live football coverage throughout the year. Its line-up from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and Hulu includes everything from documentaries to critically acclaimed dramas, comedies and classic animation. Subscribers can also enjoy the second season of the International Emmy and BAFTA-winning Rivals, the award-winning comedy series Only Murders in the Building, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ box-office hit Zootopia 2, and 20th Century Studios’ Send Help.
