Guns of Eschaton: Viktor Antonov’s Final Work! [VIDEO]

Although the legendary designer passed away last year, others want to finish what he began, and that will certainly not be an easy task.

The world’s first Soulslike first-person shooter pulls players into an apocalyptic Western world created by the legendary Viktor Antonov, a land of dust, blood, and horror. Study enemies, count bullets, and forge a personal combat style with gunpowder and prayers.

Go West alone or in co-op, gunslingers, and die with the country. The Old South is burning, but its legends are not completely dead yet.

Guns of Eschaton is set in an apocalyptic Western imagined by legendary art director Viktor Antonov, one of the key figures behind Half-Life 2, Dishonored, Prey, Fallout 4, and Wolfenstein: The New Order. It is a land of dust, blood, false saints, broken history, and occult horror, a wasteland where the road to salvation is paved with spent shells and bodies that remember your name.

You are almost ordinary: fragile, outmatched, and surrounded by a dying world full of monsters. Yet you have everything needed to survive the horrors of this burning world: a Colt, killer instincts, and the determination to get home no matter how long the road may be.

This is not a fast-paced shooter where victory depends solely on reflexes. Every bullet matters. Every gun has its own personality. Every monster has a weakness. You cannot rely on old habits. You have to learn how to shoot all over again.

Study enemies, identify their weak points, and make every action deliberate. Surviving this wilderness takes more than steady aim. Adapt to different ammunition types, carefully timed parries and dashes, mystical abilities drawn from occult relics, and every other tool discovered along the way.

If the road becomes too hard, call in your posse. This is a personal journey through a global catastrophe. You are someone who has lost almost everything and is trying to return home before the final scraps are taken away as well.

The road ahead crosses America’s former Old South, now transformed into a haunted frontier filled with ruined settlements, mythical trails, impossible machines, monstrous factions, and historical figures trapped between legend and damnation. This is not merely the end of America. It is the beginning of something far worse.

Use an arsenal of more than twenty weapons that faithfully reflect the handling, limitations, and brutal power of nineteenth-century firearms. Like a horse, every weapon has its own personality, and failing to master it may get you killed faster than any enemy can.

Create your own playstyle with active and passive abilities, custom bullets, talismans, armor, consumables, and the powers of three sacred paths. Learn from legendary gunslingers and iconic figures of the Wild West. Fight by your own rules, choose the right bullet for the right monster, and view the chambers of your revolver either as a line of consumables or as the timeline of your battle plan.

Set out alongside allies. Full single-player and co-op progression allows players to experience the story in their own way, or even invade other players’ worlds to make their road toward salvation more difficult.

The factions encountered draw from real mythologies twisted by the apocalypse. The Wild West has fallen into a mystical and spiritual catastrophe known as The Burning. Across ruined settlements and forgotten frontiers, reality bends under the weight of ancient powers, competing faiths, and impossible myths.

Use a hand-written and illustrated Cherokee Codex to study enemy behavior, weaknesses, anatomy, rituals, and hidden rules. Lore is not merely decoration here: lore itself is the weapon.

“We are honored to reveal Guns of Eschaton, the final project shaped by Viktor Antonov’s extraordinary vision. From the earliest stages of development, I had the privilege of creating this world with Viktor, where ideas, themes, and concepts evolved into the world that players will experience today thanks to his talent.

Viktor’s imagination and creative legacy were a constant source of inspiration throughout development, and this game is the result of our entire team’s incredible collaborative effort to bring that vision to life. We are proud to share it with players around the world in partnership with our publisher, 4Divinity.” Eschatology Entertainment studio head Fuad Kuliev wrote in the press release.

The game from Eschatology Entertainment and 4Divinity has been announced for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC. It does not have a release date yet.
