TECH NEWS – Google Books typically aren’t top-of-the-line hardware, but this model features a display with a surprisingly high refresh rate.

The Mac Observer obtained high-resolution images of Lenovo’s upcoming Chromebook 15, and we now have significant technical data on the device. According to the leaked information, the laptop appears to be aimed more at the premium segment than the traditional Chromebook market. The laptop’s model number is Lenovo GB 15IPH12. It will be equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 5 325 processor featuring an integrated GPU with four Xe cores. The laptop will come with 16 or 32 GB of LPDDR5X memory, and users can expect storage capacities of 256 or 512 GB. Lenovo’s documentation also links the IPH platform code to Intel’s Panther Lake-H platform.

The Googlebook 15’s display appears to be one of its biggest selling points. Lenovo is reportedly incorporating a 15.3-inch OLED touchscreen with a resolution of 2880 x 1800. The display operates at a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and a brightness of up to 500 nits, ensuring excellent detail. The 100% DCI-P3 color gamut guarantees vibrant images. This is significantly more ambitious than the hardware typically associated with traditional Chromebooks.

In terms of connectivity, the laptop will feature two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB-A port, an HDMI 2.0 port, a 3.5-mm audio jack, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. All of this is housed in a lightweight 1.29-kg chassis, despite the large display. The laptop is powered by a 70 Wh battery, which, according to Lenovo’s tests, can provide up to 11 hours of battery life.

This Lenovo laptop features built-in Gemini Intelligence and the ability to sync with Android phones. It also has fingerprint recognition and Google Face Recognition. The keyboard includes a dedicated Google “G” key, and a multicolored LED strip called the Glowbar near the hinge allows users to check the battery and charging status. Lenovo has not yet disclosed pricing and availability details.
