MOVIE NEWS – In the case of sequels, a basic requirement is that the new part does not shoot the cartridges of the previous episode again, but gives much more and surprises the audience. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is such a sequel, new characters and exciting plot threads expand the hero’s universe, but this is precisely what has raised disturbing questions among some fans.

One ​​of the new characters is Shadow, who is Sonic‘s worse self, and is actually the next main villain. In the original version, this character is voiced by Keanu Reeves (in Hungarian, Zsolt László), so he is a really cool character. And that may be the problem: many are worried that Shadow‘s character might stylistically overshadow the main character, Sonic, after all, a “regular” hero might be less exciting than his alter ego, who’s always up for evil. Shadow‘s appearance also brought with it the appearance of Dr. Robotnik‘s grandfather, Gerald Robotnik. Both characters are played by Jim Carrey, which can also be dangerous for the protagonist, since two Jim Carreys can thoroughly draw attention to themselves at the same time.

The fact that the film’s marketing also puts Keanu Reeves and Shadow in the foreground, while hardly anything is known about the plot, can also be dangerous. On internet forums, everyone shares their observations about Shadow. At the same time, there are also opinions that putting Shadow in the foreground is part of a very conscious marketing strategy. Hard-core fans who have long known the Sonic video game need no introduction to the new character joining the film, but less-initiated viewers should be prepared for who to expect in the new installment.
