Red Dead Redemption 2: Roger Clark Hints at Rockstar’s Next-Gen Plans for Arthur Morgan’s Adventure

Red Dead Redemption 2 doesn’t need a shiny remake or remaster right now, but Arthur Morgan’s voice actor is convinced Rockstar already has a secret strategy. Roger Clark believes we’ll see the iconic Western reborn with jaw-dropping visuals as soon as gaming technology leaps ahead.

The video game industry is full of surprise remakes and remasters—even for titles that feel brand new. Just look at The Last of Us: Part 2 – Remastered or Days Gone Remastered. Roger Clark, the man who brought Arthur Morgan to life in Red Dead Redemption 2, is convinced Rockstar will eventually revisit its blockbuster Western. As soon as technology takes a big enough leap, he predicts, the studio will bring us a revamped, modernized version of this open-world epic.

Clark shared these thoughts with The Gamer, reflecting on Rockstar’s approach to remakes and remasters. “I think we’re already seeing the beginning of that trend,” he said. “More and more, we’re getting remasters and new versions of great games that still hold up and remain hugely popular. The game data isn’t going anywhere, and the tools for visual upgrades just keep getting better.”

To be clear, Clark isn’t claiming Rockstar is working on a Red Dead Redemption 2 remake right now. He’s simply saying that, as the years pass, it’s likely to happen. “I wouldn’t rule out a remake or a remaster in the future,” he continued. “We’ve already seen that with GTA 5, which got an enhanced version, and with the original Red Dead Redemption, which finally arrived on PC. I think Rockstar will keep focusing on re-releases of these incredible stories, because that’s what brings players back.”

Even Roger Clark Wants a Next-Gen Red Dead Redemption 2

This isn’t the first time Clark has talked about remakes, remasters, or visual upgrades for games. Just a few weeks ago, he made headlines by declaring that both fans and he himself want to see a PS5 and Xbox Series edition of Red Dead Redemption 2. It’s been a longtime wish among the community, and Clark is just echoing the hope that so many players share.
