Basic support for Microsoft’s operating system is coming to an end soon, and game developers are starting to respond.
Don’t forget that there are only two weeks left before Windows 10 support ends. This means there isn’t much time left to upgrade to Windows 11 (either with a single click in the settings or by upgrading your PC to make Windows 11 run properly). Of course, not everyone can or wants to switch from Windows 10. Not everyone cares about Copilot and artificial intelligence. Or even the fact that the Start menu button was moved to the center of the taskbar instead of the lower left corner…
October 14 doesn’t necessarily mean the end of Windows 10 functionality – we can still use our PCs, but without software updates, security patches, and technical support, many applications will become obsolete because users won’t be able to stay secure. Now, Monster Hunter Wilds, Monster Hunter Rise, and Monster Hunter: World are among the latest games to announce that Windows 10 support will end in the coming weeks. Starting October 14, Capcom will no longer guarantee that Monster Hunter: World, Monster Hunter Rise, and Monster Hunter Wilds will run on Windows 10 systems.
While players will still be able to access and play the games, proper functionality cannot be guaranteed on operating systems for which Microsoft has discontinued support. If you encounter issues running the game, support will only be provided based on information available before the end of Windows 10 support. Services for investigating Windows 10 gameplay issues will be discontinued.
The Monster Hunter games are not the first to make such an announcement – we’ve already seen others, like Final Fantasy XIV, warn players of the same fate, and this certainly won’t be the last. We can be sure that more warnings will appear in the coming weeks as we get closer to the mandatory switch to Windows 11…
