id Software‘s Doom will not only have a beta testing opportunity for the players, because it’s offering an alpha test as well. Of course, this is not available to everyone either, but if you want to participate, you can do so… as long as you have that beta test code from Wolfenstein: The New Order copy (bought before May 26, 2014 no less!) in your possession, so you better have bought the return of BJ Blazkowicz as soon as possible. Do you have that code?

If you do so, then you can jump into the alpha test, which is having one game mode and one map – this is not a lot, but better than nothing. Six weapons, two equipment (like a personal teleporter), and you can also turn into a Revenant, as long as you get to the Demon Rune first. You can be killed quickly though with the Gauss Cannon, as it is the counter for Revenants. Seeing how the Heatwave map is a combination of an open area in the center in this industrial themed level with lots of closed corridors, it looks like a reasonable selection for the alpha.
