Alien: Isolation 2: After 11 Years, Creative Assembly Is Finally Making It! [VIDEO]

It is remarkable that SEGA waited this long before asking the studio to actually make the sequel, something a lot of people will probably be very happy about.

British developer Creative Assembly and publisher SEGA uploaded a video to the official YouTube channel of the first game, and it very much looks like a teaser for Alien: Isolation 2. The trailer is only 25 seconds long, and most of it is almost completely dark, but the logos of Creative Assembly and IP owner 20th Century Studios can clearly be seen. The trailer is titled False Sense of Security, and the description states that we feel safe even when we really are not.

Alien: Isolation 2 will use Epic Games technology, specifically Unreal Engine 5, rather than Creative Assembly’s own Cathode Engine that powered the first game. That information comes from a job listing for a senior development manager, and the wording there is fairly direct: “This is an excellent opportunity for a talented senior development manager to join the sequel to Alien Isolation being built in Unreal Engine 5.”

Alien: Isolation launched in 2014 and received positive, though not wildly enthusiastic, reviews. Its sales performance also fell short of SEGA’s expectations, which helps explain why it took so long for a sequel to get the green light. Over time, however, the game’s reputation improved dramatically, and many players now view it as a horror classic. In 2019, FoxNext claimed no sequel was in development. That changed in 2024, when creative director Al Hope marked the game’s tenth anniversary by announcing Alien: Isolation 2. At the end of 2024, the project was still in an early phase of development, so release is likely still at least a year away, if not more. Still, this small teaser suggests SEGA is getting ready to share more.

As far as we know, two other Alien games are also in development: Alien Fireteam Elite 2, expected to arrive in fall 2026, and Alien Deathstorm, another first-person horror game being developed by fellow British studio Rebellion.
