The Blood Of The Dawnwalker Could Push Your PC Harder Than Expected

The Blood of the Dawnwalker has finally revealed what kind of PC it will need, and Rebel Wolves’ RPG is already making one thing clear: this is not being built for aging office hardware. The new game from former The Witcher 3 developers is set to launch in September on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, but anyone planning to play it on computer will need at least an RTX 3050-class GPU, 16 GB of RAM, and a mandatory SSD.

During a lengthy presentation, Bandai Namco and Rebel Wolves showed more than just the release window and gameplay details. They also revealed the PC system requirements, split across minimum, recommended, and ultra tiers. That structure is standard for modern PC releases, but the real detail is in how demanding even the lowest tier looks. The Blood of the Dawnwalker clearly wants to offer a modern visual experience, and that means many older setups will be left behind from the start.

At minimum settings, the target is native 1080p at 30 FPS with the graphics preset set to low. That requires an Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X processor, an Nvidia RTX 3050 or GTX 1070, an AMD RX Vega-56, or an Intel Arc A580 GPU, along with 16 GB of RAM, 6 GB of VRAM, Windows 10, DirectX 12, and 60 GB of SSD storage. In other words, the game can still technically run on a few older graphics cards, but the minimum target really means minimum: 1080p, 30 FPS, low settings, and no expectation that the experience will magically look like the trailers.

Requirement Minimum Recommended Ultra
Quality Native 1080p at 30 FPS Native 1080p at 60 FPS
or
Native 1440p at 60 FPS
1440p at 60 FPS
or
2160p at 60 FPS
Graphics Preset Low Medium-High High-Ultra
CPU Intel Core i7-8700K
or
AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
Intel Core i5-13600
or
AMD Ryzen 9 7900X
Intel Core i5-13600K
or
AMD Ryzen 9 7950X
GPU Nvidia RTX 3050 or GTX 1070
AMD RX Vega-56
Intel Arc A580
Nvidia RTX 5060 / Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti for 1440p
AMD RX 6800 XT or AMD RX 7800 XT for 1440p
Nvidia RTX 4080 or Nvidia RTX 5090 for 2160p
AMD RX 7900 XTX
RAM 16 GB 16 GB 16 GB
VRAM 6 GB 12 GB / 16 GB, depending on preset 16 GB
Storage 60 GB SSD 60 GB SSD 60 GB SSD
OS and DirectX Windows 10, DirectX 12 Windows 10, DirectX 12 Windows 10, DirectX 12

The recommended tier raises the bar considerably. Here, the target is native 1080p at 60 FPS with a medium-high preset, or 1440p at 60 FPS with stronger cards. Rebel Wolves lists an Intel Core i5-13600 or AMD Ryzen 9 7900X processor, an Nvidia RTX 5060 or RTX 4070 Ti for 1440p, and AMD RX 6800 XT or RX 7800 XT graphics cards. RAM remains at 16 GB, but VRAM rises to 12 or 16 GB depending on the selected preset. Storage remains 60 GB on SSD, with Windows 10 and DirectX 12 also required.

The System Requirements Make It Clear That The Blood Of The Dawnwalker Will Not Be Gentle On Weaker PCs

At ultra settings, The Blood of the Dawnwalker clearly aims at high-end machines. The target becomes native 1440p at 60 FPS or 2160p at 60 FPS with high-ultra settings. For that, the game asks for an Intel Core i5-13600K or AMD Ryzen 9 7950X processor, an Nvidia RTX 4080 or RTX 5090, or an AMD RX 7900 XTX GPU. The memory requirement remains 16 GB, but VRAM climbs to 16 GB, while the installation still needs 60 GB of SSD space. This is the tier for players who want to push the game’s full visual ambition rather than simply make it run.

One of the most important details is that these targets are listed at native resolution, not with DLSS or FSR doing the heavy lifting. The final version will support Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR, so performance can likely be improved on supported hardware, but the published targets themselves are not built around upscaling. That matters especially for RTX 3050 or RX Vega-56-level cards, because even if they meet the entry point, Rebel Wolves is clearly warning players not to ignore the VRAM requirements attached to each preset.

The good news is that CPU and RAM requirements are not completely unreasonable. Sixteen gigabytes of RAM is enough across all three tiers, and the minimum CPU requirement is not absurd by modern standards. The GPU side is where things become much harsher. Anyone aiming for higher resolution and 60 FPS will need a stronger card, more VRAM, and a much more modern build. The mandatory SSD is also worth noting, as the game will not install to a traditional hard drive, although the 60 GB storage requirement is at least more restrained than many large RPGs released in recent years.

The Blood of the Dawnwalker is therefore already presenting itself as a visually ambitious and demanding PC RPG. The minimum configuration keeps the door open for some older graphics cards, but anyone hoping to see Rebel Wolves’ world at its best should start thinking in terms of stronger hardware. The real test will come in September, when players find out whether those requirements are justified by the scale, performance, and visual quality of the final game.
