EA Sports F1 25: PSSR Support Arrives With the New Season DLC! [VIDEO]

This means Codemasters and Electronic Arts’ game will look its best on Sony’s mid-generation console upgrade.

EA Sports F1 25 will support PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, or PSSR, alongside the release of the 2026 season pack. This pack replaces this year’s F1 26 after Codemasters announced that it would take a one-year break from full releases and return in 2027 with a game that differs from previous entries in visuals, feel, and gameplay, while offering more gameplay options. On the PlayStation Blog, Mark Roberts, associate brand manager at EA Sports, answered several questions about what happened with the addition of PSSR to F1 25, and what PlayStation 5 Pro owners can expect from the game, which will now carry the PlayStation 5 Pro Enhanced label on the PlayStation Store.

According to Roberts, this mainly involves improvements to F1 25’s Quality Mode, which already featured ray tracing and ran at 60 FPS on PlayStation 5 Pro. Now, with the added benefit of PSSR support, Roberts says the visuals enhanced by ray tracing and improved PSSR are the best you can get on console hardware. The game’s Performance Mode also benefits from PSSR: PlayStation 5 Pro owners with compatible TVs and monitors can play at a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate, and Roberts even mentions support for 8K resolution for those who have a TV capable of it.

If you already own F1 25, you can get the 2026 season pack as DLC. If you do not own F1 25 yet, you can get everything in the F1 25: 2026 Season Edition package. Both the add-on and the new bundled version will be available from June 3. According to Roberts, all these improvements come together in striking fashion in the 2026 season pack, especially on the new Madring circuit, the first track built from scratch with all the new features in mind. This wild new high-speed street circuit is the perfect venue for the best experience of the enhanced PSSR and all ray tracing features.

As for the 2026 Season Pack itself, every player who purchases the expansion can try F1 gameplay with active aerodynamics and a new Overtake mode. Career and My Team modes have also been expanded in the DLC, with fully customizable team management.
