Naughty Dog’s Co-President Resigns

Christophe Balestra leaves Naughty Dog after 1.5 decades.

Balestra revealed his goodbye letter on the developers’ website, and in it, he says that he wants to spend more time with his family, as well as concentrate on his personal ambitions and projects, which will also include some programming, too.

Balestra joined Naughty Dog in 2002, and back then, Uncharted, and The Last of Us didn’t exist! Instead, we knew the developers for franchises/games such as Crash Bandicoot or Jak & Daxter on the PlayStation (or PS2).

Former co-president, Evan Wells will now act as president from April 3, effectively promoting himself to a higher position after Balestra’s departure.

Best of luck to Balestra! However, announcing the departure just days after Naughty Dog saying that after the standalone expansion, Uncharted: Lost Legacy, they see no future in the franchise, is a little ominous…

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
