The team behind the reboot of Tomb Raider might be working on a return to the series.
Why do we think about this? Well, Crystal Dynamics started to tweet Legacy of Kain-related artworks and images on Twitter quite often in the past. There has to be a reason behind this change of topic. Otherwise, Crystal Dynamics would likely not care about the series: they either develop a remaster or a new title. Multiple tweets show Raziel, which might hint at his return.
The last Legacy of Kain game (Defiance) came out in 2003. There was another game, called The Dark Prophecy in development at Ritual Entertainment in 2004, but it was canceled. In 2012, a PlayStation 4 project (with the subtitle Dead Sun) was also ended up being canceled. The franchise is in not a good situation.
In 2015, Crystal Dynamics‘ lead designer, Michael Brinker, said that there’s a 50% chance of Legacy of Kain getting a new game on PlayStation 4/Xbox One (there was no Nintendo Switch back then). Something has to be in development…
