The First Details About The Monster Hunter Film

MOVIE NEWS – Capcom has more on its plate than the Mega Man live-action adaptation.

Constantin Film is behind bringing the monsters to the big picture. The producers will be Paul W. S. Anderson, Jeremy Bolt (Impact Pictures), as well as Robert Kulzer and Martin Moszkowicz from Constantin Film. Dennis Berardi, the head of the visual effects, will also act as a producer. Anderson will also be the scriptwriter and director.

The story will be about two hunters, both coming from different worlds, who team up to defeat their shared enemies, the monsters. The viewers will make new discoveries, as well as recognise familiar faces/characters from the franchise, such as Admiral. The principal photography will start this month in South Africa and Namibia.

The international distributor will be Sony Pictures Releasing International, but Constantin Film (German-speaking territories – Germany, Switzerland, Austria), Tencent Pictures (China), Toho Film (Japan), and Screen Gems (United States) will also handle distribution.

The movie has no release date. Anderson previously worked for Capcom with the Resident Evil films, and here’s the kicker for the 60-million-dollar budget film: one of the protagonists will be Milla Jovovich. She had this role in the Resident Evil films as well, and she happens to be Anderson’s wife…
