MOVIE NEWS – It seems that The Witcher, which is planned to debut on Netflix later this year, has finished shooting.

Redanian Intelligence, a fan site, reports that the Netflix series adaptation based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s books has shot the necessary scenes for the first season, meaning this part of the production has ended. They claim it based on several personal accounts’ comments on social media, meaning the scenes have been mostly shot in Spain, Poland, as well as Hungary in Budapest (at the Vajdahunyad Castle), meaning everything is going according to plan, and there are no delays in production at the moment…

Charlotte Brandström, the director of The Witcher Netflix series, as well as Adam Levy, an actor, both claimed on social media that they are mostly done with shooting, and the remaining ones are being handled by Tomasz Baginski, the executive producer for the series.

However, don’t look for The Witcher on Netflix just yet, as the shooting was just one part of the series’ creation. There is still a lot left to do! The post-production phase could take far more than the production itself. It includes special effects, editing, computer graphics (if needed), as well as the composition of the soundtrack for the series – these can’t be done quickly. Good work needs time, and being impatient leads nowhere.

The Witcher, which got three games by CD Projekt RED between 2007 and 2015 (they are currently working on Cyberpunk 2077, with no release window on the horizon – it is planned for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, but we wouldn’t rule out a next-gen, or a cross-gen release for it…), is going to debut on Netflix towards the end of the year. We’re pretty sure the company will hype the series, and why not? There are several franchises that either get an animated or a live-action series on Netflix – Castlevania is a prime example of it.
