Tom Holland Would Love To Share The Screen With Charlie Cox’s Daredevil

MOVIE NEWS – Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland can’t wait to meet Charlie Cox’s Daredevil on the big screen.

Tom Holland, the current Spider-Man of the MCU, has reacted extremely positively to the idea of sharing the screen with Charlie Cox’s Daredevil. The actor – who is set to make his return to the character in Spider-Man: No Way, which will be taking on all manner of multiversal madness, and is just days away – heaped praise on Cox’s work in the Netflix series Daredevil, as well as on fellow actor Vincent D’Onofrio’s performance, and he clearly wants Spider-Man and Daredevil to join forces in the future…

“I loved Daredevil. I really, really enjoyed it. I thought Charlie Cox was excellent.”

“I thought Vincent D’Onofrio did a fantastic job as Wilson Fisk. It was really cool to see a darker side to a Marvel character. That fight scene in the hallway was spectacular. I know some of the stunt guys that built that sequence. I thought it was a great show.”

The idea of a Charlie Cox-formed Matt Murdock/Daredevil appearance has been floated for some time in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The actor was reportedly seen in costume on the set of the upcoming MCU sequel. While nothing has been officially confirmed, footage has recently leaked of Cox as Matt Murdock sitting at a table in Peter Parker’s apartment with Aunt May and Happy Hogan – if nothing else, it’s pretty damn convincing.

The image appears to coincide with a scene described by Tom Holland in a recent interview, during which he hinted at the appearance of a mysterious fourth character: “It’s four people sitting at a table, having a conversation about what it’s like to be a superhero, and it was amazing,” Holland said.

“The other day we watched the scene, my brother and I, and our jaws were on the floor.” So when Cox appears in Spider-Man: No Way Home, he will only be seen in the skin of Matt Murdock, with the costumed crime-fighter no doubt being put aside for future projects.

The theory that Charlie Cox will reprise his role as Daredevil has been further fueled by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige himself, who recently revealed that if the character is brought back into the fray, it will indeed be Cox. “If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil,” Feige said.

“Where we see that, how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen.”

Charlie Cox, meanwhile, has firmly denied that he will be back in costume anytime soon, with or without Tom Holland, and is growing increasingly concerned that the ongoing rumours could hurt his chances. “Also if there was a chance of that happening in the future, I don’t want to say something that could potentially jeopardize those chances because the people high up at Marvel, maybe they see this stuff or hear what I say and maybe that influences,” the actor said.

“I don’t know. I have no idea. I love how passionate the fans are and I feel very, very, very touched that so many of them have gone online and made their voices heard about the desire for me to come back.” Fortunately, according to Kevin Feige, that doesn’t seem to have stopped him from returning at all.

In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Tom Holland-portrayed Peter Parker asks Doctor Strange to help keep his identity as Spider-Man a secret after it goes public, leading to the multiverse unravelling. It hits theatres on December 17, 2021.
