MOVIE NEWS – Daredevil star Charlie Cox fully expects to continue his involvement in the MCU; however, the original Netflix Marvel series will only be available on the streaming service for another month…
Charlie Cox made a triumphant return as Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home, a film packed with exciting cameos. Although he wasn’t seen in the superhero spoof and only had a brief role, Cox recently spoke to HeyUGuys about his future as Daredevil and revealed that we could expect to see a lot more of him in the MCU in the future.
“I think at this point, I expect to be involved in some capacity.”
“Otherwise, it would be a bit of a weird one-scene moment. I don’t know much, I know a little, and what I do know I’m very excited about… there’s a chance it could be the next ten years of my life.”
He made his debut on Netflix as Daredevil back in 2015, and fans were hoping Charlie Cox would be brought back into the fight after the acclaimed series was cancelled. Thankfully, we all got our wish, as Matt Murdock, played by Cox, had to defend Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in the record-breaking Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Cox rightly points out that it would be highly unusual if the character were brought back for just this tiny cameo. So the actor rightly expects to be called back for more. While he did reveal that he “knows a little”, which strongly suggests that Daredevil will return (many consider the Disney+ series Echo to be the most likely), Cox didn’t say too much about his MCU future. However, the fact that he dares to say that his Marvel-related career could last up to a decade indicates that he may have some serious projects in the pipeline.

There’s also a slight sadness in our joy because Daredevil and five other series – Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders and The Punisher – look set to disappear from Netflix, with signs indicating they will leave the service on 1 March.
Unfortunately, there is still no announcement about where they will be moving to. However, it will likely be either Disney+ or Hulu, as these characters belong to Marvel.
Hulu is the most likely to get the series as Disney moves adult shows to that service.
For example, all the PG-13 X-Men movies are available on Disney+. However, R-rated movies (Logan, Deadpool, Deadpool 2) can be streamed on Hulu.
Netflix’s Marvel universe launched in 2015 with the first season of Daredevil. It led to the teaming up of four characters from Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and The Defenders. Jon Bernthal appeared as Frank Castle/The Punisher in Daredevil season 2 and eventually got his spinoff series. Although these series mainly were critical successes, they were all ultimately cancelled by Netflix.
While technically part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they never intertwined with the main story thread or interacted with the central characters. There are little easter eggs here and there, but these series feel very separate. The Netflix shows are also much more in the adult category than any of the main Disney-affiliated movies, which is why they are more likely to end up on Hulu.
