Amber Heard wants to avoid being mentioned in Aquaman 2 at the court hearing.
It is likely that the ongoing legal dispute between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard will take a long time and it will be even longer to reach any agreement between the two parties. The new information suggests that Heard is now weaving the upcoming appearance of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom into the situation, as an attempt to ask not to be mentioned at the next trial. It appears new posts shared on Twitter that Heard is trying to make it happen that his upcoming film is out of the question at all when he meets Deppel during the next legal confrontation.
Fans of Depp, who are targeting Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and Warner Bros., have petitioned to take Heard out of the film. Although it seemed early in the development, the studio may reconsider the role of Mera, played by Heard in the first Aquaman film, in the sequel, bringing back Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry / Aquaman, and with a number of returning stars, including Dolph Lundgren, Patrick Wilson and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
It might be insignificant whether Depp can talk about the role of Heard in Aquaman 2, it has provided him with evidence that the delay in preparing Aquaman to continue is due to the allegations of abuse he made against Heard and not the “creative problems” that Warner Bros. said was behind the impediments. As further information suggests, Depp would love to talk about the role of Heard in the sequel of the superhero film, which is not surprising given the situation they put him in regarding the sequel of Fantastic Beasts.
When the charges against Depp were first made public, it didn’t take long for it to be announced that the actor would be relieved of his role in Fantastic Beasts: Secrets of Dumbledore, and Mads Mikkelsen would take over the role of Grindlewald in the upcoming follow-up. Considering that Warner Bros. is also behind Aquaman 2, it’s clear that Depp and his legal team will want to discuss yet how Heard stayed in the film, and whether there were any disputes that her role was untenable.
From Warner Bros. ’point of view, it is arguable that the studio does not want the film being made to go through the lawsuit, as they feared Depp’s reintroduction to the sequel to Fantastic Beasts, which would overshadow Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’s release as it’s in already on the direction to the cinema at the end of the year, it’s arguable that all the publicity serves as publicity for the film, so there’s no doubt that whatever they’re talking about in court is the boycott. There are calls among Depp’s followers.
In the long run, the legal battle between Depp and Heard will not have a lasting impact on the appearance of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, but Warner Bros. has found itself right in the middle of a situation they would have liked to have left. Unless Heard’s new request is complied with, he seems unable to avoid being dragged into the case.
