Although not much publicity is being given, it seems that PS Plus Extra is losing one of its games a month due to unique circumstances.
The expansion of Sony’s PS Plus service seems to have gone well. Released in July 2022, PS Plus Extra and Premium editions included a total of 18 games, including Stray, which became an instant – not just human, but feline – crowd-pleaser. Of course, as with competitor Xbox Game Pass, games may eventually leave the service.
According to the PlayStation Store, Killzone Shadow Fall will be removed from PS Plus Extra at 9 am CT on August 11.
Fans have until then to claim the game, but be aware that this isn’t a timed removal or anything. Instead, Killzone Shadow Fall will be removed on August 11 because online services will be down on August 12.
As of August 12, all online features, services and game modes for Killzone Shadow Fall, including the popular Intercept mode, will no longer be available. Those who own Killzone Shadow Fall will still be able to play the game in offline single-player modes, but of course, such a decision will drastically reduce the game’s viability, even on a service like PS Plus Extra.
Of course, fans will still have almost two weeks to enjoy the game in its current form, but only offline options will remain after that.
PS Plus subscribers should still expect a lot of new additions over the next month. PS Plus Essential games for August 2022 have already been revealed, which include Tony Hawk’s Pro Skate 1 + 2, Yakuza: Like a Dragon and Little Nightmares. PS Plus Extra and Premium games for August 2022 have yet to be revealed, but given that they’re usually made available around the middle of the month, we can expect an announcement soon.
