Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart: The Duo Is Heading To PC [VIDEO]

It’s a bit unusual that the franchise’s latest installment is officially available on PC for the first time (the rest of the franchise will remain emulated until then, apart from the PlayStation 4 remake of the first installment?).

We’ve previously heard that Sony will bring one of its PlayStation 5 games to PC as a surprise by the end of July. Billbil-kun was right about that, too, having been leaking the PlayStation Plus Essential list for over a year ahead of schedule. (A quick check on Twitter reveals that at 10 am, the list for June isn’t out yet. Whatever it is, at 5:30 pm, Sony will announce the usual…). Here’s what we’re talking about: Insomniac Games and Nixxes Software (Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and patched Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition), who are well known for their PC porting, have announced on the PlayStation Blog that they’re officially bringing the IP to PC for the first time.

Those who pre-order Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will get early access to the game’s Pixelizer weapon and Carbonox armor. The PC port will have ultra-wide support, allowing for 21:9, 32:9, and triple monitor 48:9 resolutions. There will also be unlimited frame rates, but you can enable ray-traced reflections and shadows on the exteriors. It will also support Nvidia DLSS 3, AMD FSR 2, Intell XeSS, and Insomniac Games’ Temporal Injection (so performance-enhancing image upscaling won’t be left out). Nvidia Reflex and Nvidia DLAA, which improve image quality, are also supported.

DualSense controllers will also be available for your peace of mind, so haptic feedback and dynamic trigger effects will be present in the PC port, which doesn’t leave out mouse and keyboard support. There’s a lot to tweak in the handling. Achievements and cloud saves will also be included in the PC version of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, which will be released on Steam and Epic Games Store on July 26.

So Sony waited two years here because it was released for PlayStation 5 on June 11, 2021…
