The latest Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League trailer revolves around Harley Quinn, showcasing her goofy personality and fighting skills.
The latest trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is here! The trailer focuses on the irreverent Harley Quinn, who will be one of the anti-heroes players will be able to control in Rocksteady’s upcoming superhero shooter. The former Dr. Harleen Quinzel, first seen in 1992 on the popular Batman: The Animated Series, has become one of DC’s most popular characters over the years. She appeared in later comics, cartoons, and even live-action DC movies.
She even appeared as a recurring antagonist in all three of Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham games, supporting his old boyfriend, Joker, until his death at the end of the second game.
Harley Quinn’s story continues in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. It is, of course, a spin-off set in the same universe as the Batman: Arkham series. Along with fellow supercriminals Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark, Quinn is recruited by Amanda Waller as part of the Task Force X program. Their goal is to complete a dangerous and terrifying mission. They must eliminate the Justice League after the sinister Brainiac takes over. This mission takes them to an open-world version of Metropolis…
The latest trailer opens with Amanda Waller describing Harley as “a crazy one-man show who doesn’t take anything seriously” in voice-over narration. Meanwhile, the deadpan figure shows off his wild and chaotic personality. The focus then shifts to Harley’s gameplay and combat abilities. She is shown swinging at enemies with her baseball bat and firing a gun at them before swinging across the battlefield via a grappling hook.
According to Waller, Harley even had access to some of Batman’s technology, including a bat-shaped attack drone and some kind of bat.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has had a bumpy ride since its 2020 announcement. Fans initially welcomed Rocksteady’s return to the Batman: Arkham universe as some of DC’s most famous villains. But Suicide Squad’s over-the-shoulder shooter mechanics and live-service model turned many away from it. The latter brought back less-than-ideal memories of games like Marvel’s Avengers. Suicide Squad has been delayed twice, which many fans see as a bad omen for the game.
Rocksteady aims to alleviate these concerns. For example, by showing off more of Suicide Squad’s gameplay before its release next January. As well as its plot and characters, including the ever-popular Harley Quinn. There are still many questions surrounding Harley’s role in the game. Especially with how she managed to get some of Batman’s weapons. But next year, the clown queen of crime will bring her bat, some guns, and some one-liners to battle Earth’s former heroes.
