New “Survival RPG” Set In The Dungeons & Dragons Universe Is In The Works?!

Gameloft is joining forces with Wizards of the Coast to develop a Dungeons & Dragons title set in the Forgotten Realms.

 

 

Wizards of the Coast is pulling out all the stops to bring the well-known Dungeons & Dragons brand to video game format. Because while it’s true that there are already some games based on the D&D universe, such as the amazing Baldur’s Gate 3, the team is doubling down on its efforts in the sector. It turned out that he had recently approved a handful of applications that had not yet been published. One that comes from the creators of Disney’s Speedstorm and Disney’s Dreamlight Valley has come in fresh news.

Specifically, it is about Gameloft, the studio presented its new and exciting project via its official X account: “We’re thrilled to announce we’re partnering with the world’s greatest roleplaying game – Dungeons and Dragons – , from Wizards of the Coast, the IP-holder and a division of Hasbro, to publish a new PC and console game!”

According to the continuation of the announcement, the development team “are working on a game set in the mythical Forgotten Realms with a unique cooperative gameplay built around an innovative hybrid of survival, life simulation and action RPG.”

“Players can expect an adventure where the rich lore of this legendary franchise meets real-time survival in a unique campaign of resilience, camaraderie, and danger at nearly every turn,” Gameloft’s announcement details. So, and much like Dungeons & Dragons’ own campaigns, it looks like the core of the experience will be cooperative adventures. These are as epic as they are challenging. The developers did not share any further details about the experience. So we expect more information, trailers and a release date for the game in the future.

As mentioned at the beginning of this article, Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro pay a lot of attention to the video game sector. In fact, the team is already working on about 40 new projects in collaboration with different developers! This shows that they are interested in making a name for themselves in this world. Probably not all titles will be based on the D&D universe. After all, we know that companies also have additional licenses, such as Monopoly or Magic: The Gathering. Among other things, brands that can be implemented in future digital publications.
