Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – Release date, preordering tiers announced [VIDEO]

Square Enix and Eidos Montreal announced yesterday that Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will launch on February 23, 2016 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. They also presented the Collector’s Edition: it will come with a steelbook, a 9″ Adam Jensen figure, a 48-page Titan Artbook and the Day 1 Edition of Mankind Divided. This edition was put together with the fans’ feedback, and it will also include preordering bonuses.

This would be all fine and dandy, but they also introduced their preordering plan. It’s not just buy the game early and get X in return – there’s going to be actual preordering tiers. No joke: if a certain amount of preordering drops on the game, more tiers will open up for those who preorder. On tier one, you can pick between three starter packs for Adam: Intruder Pack is for stealth, Enforcer Pack is for offensive players and Classic Pack is for the veteran fans.

This tier is open already. Tier two allows a choice between a digital artbook or a six-track digital OST sampler. Tier three opens up a new mission, Desperate Measures, tier four is a choice between a digital comic or a digital novel – the latter one gives background stories on several Human Revolution characters. The final tier will make the game launch four days earlier.

We’d only describe this move with just one word: pathetic. At least the game is really promising…
