The critique towards PlayStation 4 about not having many great exclusive games is legitimate. Think about it: Knack was average at best, and we don’t really remember Killzone: Shadow Fall anymore from the launch line-up. Since then, it’s pretty much only Bloodborne that was able to perform really well, and while The Order: 1886 looked really nice, that game was ridiculously short. But if the Worldwide Studios boss says something similar, then we can not only say that they acknowledged the feedback, but also that they want to change this in the near future… or at least in 2016.
Shuhei Yoshida said (isn’t he talking a lot recently? is it just us?) that this end-year Sony AAA-line-up isn’t really strong, while the Xbox One is going to get Halo 5 and Rise of the Tomb Raider. Where are the games? Shu stated that they are now focusing on PlayStation VR, which is pretty much a new platform for them, so until then, we’re left with… basically the Bloodborne expansion and nothing else for 2015 outside multiplatform titles.
Better get down to work – 2016 should correct this mishap and if Gran Turismo 7 does indeed drop in by the end of next year, as well as Horizon Zero Dawn (not to mention Uncharted 4 in March), then we can expect a much more decent year for exclusives.
