New Monkey Island game? Not going to happen!

Double Fine announced so many games they work on that they are stacked for the next two or three years. Let’s see what they have in store for us: Full Throttle, Psychonauts PSVR, Psychonauts 2, Day of the Tentacle Remastered. However, something noticeable is missing from this list – if you like those SCUMM-engine games, you might still remember Monkey Island. Where the hell is that? Schafer says it’s not going to happen!

Tim Schafer was one of the lead figures of LucasArts before he founded Dobule Fine. He worked on three Monkey Island games: the ’90 The Secret of Monkey Island, the ’91 sequel (LeChuck’s Revenge) and we can also find his name in the ’97 The Curse of Monkey Island as well. Logically, you might think he should revive this franchise as he does with the others, but he stated the chance for this is very low. Disney would allow him to use the license, though: the company bought LucasArts’ licenses as well, and they already allowed Schafer to use other licenses. Therefore Disney wouldn’t deny it.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
