You won’t guess Sony’s future plan for the PS Vita!

PlayStation Vita is in a tight situation. While the first-party developments halted for the handheld in the West, especially indie developers started to push the PS Vita forward instead. Still, Sony plays a with our without you game with its touchscreen handheld. This time around, Sony gave an interview to the Japanese publication Famitsu.

They want to focus on children with the PS Vita to provide the same gaming experience as with a home console (= PS4), but outside. This is an approach they would like to continue in the future as well. They also want to get involved in the parents-children communication somehow. When it comes to games, the children-friendly approach can still be noticeable with the release of Minecraft and Dragon Quest Builders on this platform. Sony would also like to get more Japanese developers on board.

In short: they mostly ignore the West and instead focus on the Japanese youngster gamers. Not the best solution, to be honest.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
