Gamestop is going to be the publisher for the new Insomniac game! The gaming retail chain store’s first published game will be Song of the Deep, so it’s a shocking move to see Insomniac Games team up with them.

Song of the Deep is going to be a Metroidvania-style game, and it’s not even far from launch. It’s going to be out later this summer. „No matter who you are, you have the ability to overcome adversity when you don’t give up.” In this game, we’ll control a young girl named Merryn, who dreams that her father gets trapped under the sea. She hops in her submarine and begins her journey underwater. This submarine can be upgraded so that you will be able to visit new areas of the sea in one piece.

We’re interested how this game will turn out. The preordering is already available for Song of the Deep, which is pegged at 15 US Dollars on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The physical release will be Gamestop-exclusive, and there are also plans for other merchandise with this franchise.
