Despite Activision being one of the biggest players in video game publishing, they will not have a booth at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo! They will not have a full-scale attack at this year’s E3, and that’s a surprising move from one of the biggest publishers.
Activision‘s communication manager Scott Lowe announced that they won’t get a booth for E3 2016. They won’t fully be absent from the event, though; the next Call of Duty game (which is developed by Infinity Ward and is rumored by GamesTM to be called Ghosts 2) will be shown at PlayStation‘s E3 show. Seeing how Sony and Activision became partners last year resulting in Call of Duty Black Ops III receiving the DLCs first on the PlayStation 4, it’s expected to happen. (Previously, Xbox platforms were „leading” the DLCs.)
An interesting tidbit: Electronic Arts are going to do the same thing as Activision! In 2007, we saw E3 turn into a press-only event. Are we heading to this yet again? We’re going to find it out shortly.
