Bebe Rexha: I don’t wanna grow up – Debut Storm

SPOTIFY – Bebe Rexha is an unknown name currently for many of us. The singer is from Brooklyn, and the reason for her relative lack of fame is because she only stepped into the limelight around last summer. The young Bebe caused a lot of surprises with her single I Don’t Wanna Grow Up. Nobody expected that her debut production to be such good work.

Before I Don’t Wanna Grow Up she had weaker experiments such as I Can’t Stop Drinking About You, I’m Gonna Show You Crazy, Gone, and Me, My, Myself & I song. However, none of those were enough to attract attention. I Don’t Wanna Grow Up might change the situation ever since it was released a few days ago on Spotify.

The young singer worked with such artists as David Guetta, Rihanna or Eminem. She has been working in the music industry for a long time. However, she has been unable to release anything noteworthy as of yet. The single I Don’t Wanna Grow Up that was released in the middle of 2015 changed a lot on her standing in the music world. Her music is characterized by nice tunes, great mixing, and good rhythm.

Közel sem tökéletes kiadvány az I Don’t Wanna Grow Up, viszont egy értékelhető produkció, ami megállja a helyét a nagymezőnyben is.

Intro

Even though we never got a big album release from her, and I can safely say that the single’s first few songs easily avoid the usual mistakes. The I Don’t Wanna Grow Up slowly builds up the ambiance of the album. Rather nice tunes, but with a bit of a dragged out rhythm in the song. The album’s second song Sweet Beginnings is one of my favorite. The interesting lyrics is backed up by a fast rhythm, and the ambiance is also great.

In the race

The mere five song album’s third song is I’m Gonna Show You Crazy, and it perfectly handles the ball from Sweet Beginnings. Although at this song the tune is less in quality, compared to the previous songs. Of course it is not an entirely bad song, it has fast rhythm, and the lyrics are rather okay. The next song is Pray, which is more serious in tone. The Gregorian part could have been more prevalent in the song, but the rhythm, and Bebe’s singing provides a good ambiance for the production.

The last song is I Can’t Stop Drinking About You, which is a great mix of today’s pop and electronic music trends. The instrumental part would have been able to stand on its own, and Bebe’s singing diminishes the quality here a bit. The lyrics are boring, and full of clichés, and do not meet the expectations that Bebe herself setup with the previous four songs.

I Don’t Wanna Grow Up is a great album, and while it is not perfect, it is among the top new albums. Bebe Rexha’s style is a lot like Hailee Steinfeld. However, I found more originality in the Brooklyn singer’s songs compared to Love Myself’s album. I consider Bebe more talented than Hailee, and I Don’t Wanna Grow up is one of the best debut singles that I have ever heard. Great instrumental plays, interesting lyrics, and enjoyable rhythm are the core parts of this album. I wish to hear more albums such as this one.

GOOD

I did not expect from a single small album to be a good release, but Bebe Rexha is a well-crafted product. I advise Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato and other singers in the genre to get their act together as the competition is coming!
