In his interview with VentureBeat, Cory Barlog, the director of the game, has talked about his past at Lucasfilm. „When I was working at Lucas, I was allowed to go up to the ranch and read the scripts for the [canceled live-action Star Wars] TV show. […] I cared about the Emperor. They made the Emperor a sympathetic figure. […] The writers who worked on that, guys from The Shield and 24, these were excellent writers.”

Cory Barlog also stated that we will control Kratos throughout the entire game. He knows that he cannot repeat his past mistakes, and he has to change. His son will be with him the entire time, and his relationship will change, evolve through the story. Oh, and don’t expect multiplayer! After 2013’s God of War Ascension, there will be a solo experience only.

While God of War has no release date, we might get this PS4-exclusive probably by the end of 2017.
