It’s Official: A New Sonic Game To Come In 2017!

We’ve been expecting this announcement, but now, it’s not a rumor anymore: Sonic will get a game reveal on his 25th birthday.

SEGA confirmed that a new Sonic The Hedgehog title is in development – 2014’s Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric on the Wii U was… let’s just say that it ended up at the bottom of the barrel similar to 2006’s PS3/X360 game. The game will get a reveal on July 22 at San Diego Comic-Con. It might be a multiplatform title, so we may see a PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and possibly a Nintendo NX getting the game next year. The announcement will be streamed. Hopefully, Takashi Iizuka, Sonic Team’s president won’t have to be ashamed for what they have in development for the fans.

Let’s get a game that isn’t rushed out to the market because of the holiday season, as well as a title that isn’t using a hard-to-learn engine. These issues were some of the biggest flaws of the 2006 and the Rise of Lyric.
